Default Is English Spoken?

Is English spoken in most of the tourist areas throughout Egypt? Is it recommended to travel with a translator when visiting here?

I would say that English is spoken widely in the resort areas, and a majority of tour guides will too. I really dont think it would be neccessary to go to the expense of a translator.

My aunt went there last year and managed on her own as well as a group of my lucky friends who did not suffer any language barrier problems.

If you are visiting the main tourist attraction areas I would say no. But if you are straying away from the normal visited areas then I would say a translator may be necessary.

I don't think you would need an interpreter if you were just going on a standard visit to see the sights. Maybe if you were to delve more deeply into places off the beaten path, then it might be a good idea...or at least have a guide.

I don't know if English is spoken very good there but you will surely find tour guides that speak English.
