How hot does it get in Egypt?

My friend went to Egypt and she said while visiting the pyramids her blood pressure dropped from the heat and she had to lay down. How hot does it usually get? How can tourists avoid getting sick from the heat? Should the pyramids be seen in the winter?

Heat stroke is a major concern when visiting Egypt and people should take precautions to make sure they are properly hydrated and adequately taking care of themselves in the heat. Right now (beginning of Sept) temps are usually in the low 90's in Cairo, but temperatures can get well over 100 degrees, pretty much all year round.
