Egypt dress code

Are there certain dress code standards to adhere to when visiting Egypt such as the pyramids? Does anybody know what is allowed and what is not?

I don't think that there is a dress code.
Still, I don't think you should make it too obvious that you are a foreigner, by dressing completely differently than the general population

try to blend in as much as possible

imagine you are pretty safe if you stay with a tour group. Females venturing out alone or in small groups without a male guide might experience a few problems though.

When in doubt, cover up.

we met a missionary family from Afghanistan.
they were 'vacationing' in the U.S.

they were telling us that the wife has to be covered at all times when in public
