Default Japan

I've been to Kobe, Japan several times to visit relatives. The last time I went, about 12 years ago, it was during the Cherry Blossum Festival. It was really beautiful to see all of blossums, but my allergies hated it.

I remember when I was still teaching that some of my student’s parent does leave in Japan. My students are of mixed raced, but they don’t really know how to speak some Japanese language.

My hubby live in Okinowa. He really liked it there. His ex did too. But his daughter didn`t like the bathrooms cause it was like a long ditch like thingy you had to squat to use. lol This was many years ago. I don`t know if they still have it like that. Iv`e never been there.

Depending upon where you are in Japan, you may still encounter the "squat and drop" type toilets. These are typical in some of the older parts of the country. I'm not sure I could ever get used to this method of using a toilet since it requires some degree of balance and the last thing I'd want to do is fall.

My sons went to Japan a few years back and said they had a blast. Their pictures were pretty interesting as well.

I hadn't heard about the "coffin sleepers" before they showed me pictures of them. They seem terribly uncomfortable!

Actually, the cattle are born and raised on the western side of the island in Hyogo Prefecture. However, when it's time to slaughter the cattle, Kobe is one location where it's done.

I haven't heard about coffin sleepers either, and now you've gotten me curious! What are they?

Sometimes business people or travelers don't want to spend money on a hotel room when all they need is a place to sleep. So what they end up renting is a space no larger than a large tube that holds a bed in it, a small tv/radio and a curtain for privacy. These can also be found on trains in Asian, providing travelers with sleep during long trips.

Here's a link to some pictures:
