Default The Great Wall

What would be a rural place to stay in near the Great Wall where you could stay in a traditional inn?

What's more rural than sleeping right at the wall? The below link offers meals and (english speaking!) guides, but it seems like you can sleep in a courtyard or in sleeping bags? Not sure how comfortable that can be, but it sure would be an experience! See for yourself, the meals look pretty good.

My wife and I were watching a program on a travel channel and saw this. It's really an interesting idea. But, like you said, I'm not sure how comfortable it would be but it's something that you would definitely remember for the rest of your life.

That sounds absolutely amazing! I had no idea you could do something like that - my husband is going to be so excited Thanks so much for the info.

I've visited China twice for a business trip. We've been in The Great Wall of China a day before going back home. Since we don't have enough time to roam around, we simply visit Simatai, 110km north-east of Beijing. From there, you can see the wall in a relatively natural state.

It does sound amazing, though not a very comfortable option, especially for those of us with young children.

I have never been to the great wall of China, nor in any parts of the country.
