Default I'd have never thought...

of traveling to Cuba for a honeymoon or really, for anything! A Canadian friend of mine went down there for her honeymoon recently and had such a fantastic time! She did suffer some heatstroke though, just minor, but still..so you have to watch the heat when you're not quite used to it. I looked at all of her pictures and it's just beautiful there!! She told me that many Canadians vacation there. I would have never thought it'd be a popular destination.

I would love to go to Cuba, but as a US citizen, I think we still face some issues with getting into the country. I am glad she had such a good time!!

I thought our government was considering lifting those bans. Did that get pushed aside because of the wars in the Middle East?

there are definitely challenges for those from the US who want to go to Cuba. the best advice that i've heard about it is to go to Jamaica and travel from there as there aren't really checks between Jamaica and Cuba

That's good advice bizofwords. I think restrictions like that are just silly.

That sounds like a great way to get around the regulations, but don't they check passports for people entering the country? So if you are entering from Jamaica with a US passport won't they see that??

Ya they probably would see that. But a lot of people are saying that things might change now that Castro is gone. But they say the next guy s worse than him. But really....who knows?

Cuba is a great sunny place to visit, but I'm not sure I would want to travel there.

This reminds me of a friend who had escaped from the USSR by going to Italy first.

Funny how the same conditions exist where we are supposed to be the free-est country on the planet.

My sister recently got back from a trip to Cuba, and the photographs she showed me were just beautiful.

Cuba?

I would think one would have visa problems.
I would probably recommend a different location instead.
