Default Cousin on vacation in Greece

My cousin and his family is having fun in Greece right now! They went there for vacation. Swimming in the Aegean sea, driving around in the car they have rented... They love it over there. Language barrier does not seem to be a problem, although I know he does not speak a work of Greek.

My girlfriend goes to various places in Greece every year with her mom. I think a lot of people there speak English, especially where there's tourists. Are they on the mainland or on an island?

Mainland, from what I understand. They are coming back soon, so I will be able to ask all the questions. For now, all I can say is that everything is wonderful: the sights, the sea, the weather, and of course the food!

My cousin and his family have returned, they say their Greece vacation was absolutely wonderful. Bright sunny weather throughout, the clearest ocean water, all kinds of beautiful fish you see as you swim... I want to go there too!

Do you speak Greek Florentin? This classic language used to be taught widely, any educated person was expected to know it. Now it looks like English has taken it's place.

I know basic language, but not too much
