Default Delayed

I am sure we have all had a flight delayed at some point in our travels, but what was your longest?

Mine was on a trip to portugal, we were delayed 6 hours and 43 minutes exactly.

Ahh my longest would be when a flight was cancelled all together and I spent about 23 hours in the Houston airport. Memories...

I missed my connecting flight once, had to spend the night in JFK. I was lucky they issued me a ticket for the next day free of charge.

I've been pretty lucky. The worst was a domestic trip, in Ft. Worth. Lots of bad weather delayed the connecting flight several hours (I don't remember the exact number).

In San Francisco I sat inside a plane on a runway for three hours once waiting to take off. That was a bummer. I was a young mom then traveling with our first daughter and she wasn't even a year old yet. It was kind of a pain being stuck like that!

Wow, lots of stories here about delays. As much as I have flown, I think I've only had one delay and it was for about 3 hours at Oakland Airport in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was waiting for a flight from Oakland to Salt Lake City. Good thing cell phones are around now so I could contact my wife so she wouldn't worry.

I think delays are just going to get worse too, especially if they keep cancelling flights like they have been lately. People are going to be spending more nights in the airport...

That wouldn't be fun, sitting in a plane like that, and especially with a little baby. Traveling with a baby scares me as it is, I don't even want to think how complicated it can be if things go wrong.

Mine was a trip back to the UK I was only going for 2 days and I was delayed by 9 hours and then had the 4 hour flight so I basically spent more time in the airport than in the UK LOL

My flight from Rome to Philly was once delayed 7 hours. The flight came late, and then the plane needed fixed and we had to wait another replacement flight that came in only later in the day. I was terribly bored but luckily I was also tired so I took a nice nap, then killed more time strolling for the stores and eating.

I have yet to be delayed for anything so far. I know that sounds rediculous but I guess I've just been lucky so far.

That's why I always try to bring a book with. If the delay is long, you can get tired enough to sleep, but if it is just two-tree hours, just sitting around can bore me to death. Reading is a perfect solution.

Oh it is real pain, if the flight is delayed. Once it happened as the people at airport were on strike, so no planes were allowed to land or take off, we were stranded for almost ten hrs.

I hate delayed flights, especially if I am in a hurry. I think the longest was 30 minutes.

I am used to flight delays. One time I missed my inter-island connecting flight and the next schedule will be in two days time, terrible! No choice, I spent 2 nights in a strange town. Another time, we can't take-off due to bad weather. I just make sure I have some reading materials with me so as to kill the time whenever necessary.
