What kinds of gifts / souvenirs do you bring from your trips to your family? Do you try to find something special for everyone or buy something "universal" like fridge magnets?

if the person collects one thing then I bring that back otherwise I dont really bother!

I am not the kind of person who will hunt and collect gifts. I will be the last person to shop on a holiday. Reason is that it tough to think about choices and every thing these days is available every where.

I like things that represent the place I've been, like little koalas from Australia or leis from Hawaii.

I prefer to buy specialty souvenirs of the place that I visited. It is nice to have something that represents the place.

It depends on the age of the gift recipient.
We have three children, so what I bring them is quite different from what I bring my spouse.

Even among themselves, they get different things, because they are different ages.

I do thit too, I think it is very nice. People appreciate it if you bring them a piece of the place you have been to, something unusual that they cannot buy locally.

one problem is that most of the time, there is not much money left by the time you have to return home

Nice idea. But I prefer buying it after the trip because I don't want to bring the souvenirs along with me during the trip.

small items that could easily fit in your carry-on or your check-in bag

oh well, it's not that important
