Default Flying with Kids

What are some things you bring along to entertain your children during a long flight? Or do you prefer to not fly at all with small kids?

It feels good to travel with family and relatives. If you travel with kids, nothing to worry because they will be entertain by the nice views and sceneries. The airlines nowadays have fully equipped entertainment for passengers. It's also a good thing if your kid is in window seat. It makes them comfortable because of great views and sceneries.

My wife and I are planning a trip with our kids in two years and are already talking about this. I jokingly tell her that I'm going to give them Benadryl so they'll sleep through most of the trip. It'll be a 17 hour flight.

It is lovely to travel with kids. Now we are planning a trip during December, they are more than thrilled and so are we.They do load their bags with so many things to keep themselves busy like books, I pod, cards, chess, mouthorgan and what not. They love the traveling part, the hotel or resort and the places we visit. We love to move out with them.

Wow, 17 hours, I might turn that Benadryl joke into a reality!

I always take a pack of playing cards, a couple of sets of top trump cards, a colouring book and pencils and the Nintendo DS with a choice of games... and thats just for a two and a half hour flight!

Handheld games seem like they could be a great way to keep them entertained. Has anyone ever used a portable dvd player?

it depends what age you are referring to.
that makes all the difference.

babies are most difficult, I think.

toddlers can also be quite difficult

older children can manage fine

It's preferable not to bring along kids especially in a long flight because kids are very irritable when it comes to long flights.

We like children. No duh, we have some at home

Anyways... I feel so bad when there's a baby on the airplane, and the mom cannot get them to stop crying.

Everyone's turning around, thinking, "can you make him stop?"
