Default Travel by Bus?

Have any of you ever travelled anywhere via a Greyhound type of bus? I just did a short extended weekend to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and it took seven hours on the bus. It wasn't bad really at all, but the way home was a bit crowded. It was economical and cost less than the gas for my car would have been.

Not a big fan of bus rides, especially since we have children.
If you want to see sights, use Metra

I have used buses to get around, but mostly on short trips like NYC to Philly or NYC to Boston. I could not imagine being stuck on there for more than a few hours - to me they are much more claustrophobic than an airplane.

Not a fan of buses, or public transportation in general for that matter. I like trains a lot better though, it's a smoother ride and generally more comfortable seats and more space. I'd never go on a long trip by bus I think.

I agree about the busses.
They stop too often, they will shake you around a lot
Also, trains are more comfortable and more roomy
