In 2000, I went to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During my visit, I made both Hajj and Umrah. Those are two religious journeys for a Muslim. One is mandatory for a Muslim while the other is not.
To go to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, you need to have a reason for visiting, not just for tourism. Some of the reasons for visiting can include: Hajj, Umrah, business, or work. The Hajj/Umrah visa will only allow you to go to a specific area including Mecca, Jeddah, and Medina and the areas one must go during their pilgrimage. The weather there is hot but without humidity. I really enjoyed my trip there and want to go back again. I would love to hear from others about their experience there. Best wishes, Yasmine |

My dad lived and worked there for a while. He was with a company called Aramco. My step-mother hated it!! I don't know if I'd want to visit there and surely I wouldn't know what to see. My dad had friends who disappeared in the desert too....kinda dangerous!

I have a friend who is working out there with Aramco. He loves it but his wife is putting up with it until he puts in his 10 years and retires from the company. I'm not sure I can be interested in putting my tourist money in such a closed off society where there is religious persecution, unless you're a muslim, and women are treated as second class citizens.
