Default Disney

I have always promised myself that I will take the kids to Disneyland one day, but I was wondering, how old do you think the kids will need to be to really appreciate all it has to offer and to get the most out of the holiday?

I would say that, depending on where you live, Disneyworld in Florida is much better than Disneyland in California. As for ages, I think that is just really up to you and the way your children are. I have friends who have taken kids as young as 1 to the parks and they had an amazing time!

We would love to go as well and have been waiting because we would like our youngest to remember it. He just turned three this year and we're thinking we'll probably wait another year or two before planning a trip. My oldest is 15 and doesn't want to go with us.lol. My other two are almost 9 and 7 and they would go tomorrow if we could.

A Disneyland experience isn't something you can do just every day and I don't blame you for thinking that it may be better to have your kids be old enough to remember it. It may be the only time they go in their lifetime! I would think that around 8 would be a fantastic age. They're tall enough to go on rides that aren't "baby" and they'll remember it more so. The one and only time I ever went to Disneyland I was 18 and I absolutely loved it!!!

I`ve never been to Disneyland but I have been to DisneyWorld quite a few times. It`s been a lot of years ago though. It`s very expensive now. They have all kinds of different parks you can go to. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM studios, and lots more. You have to pay for each park too. If you can afford it I would say take at least a week so you can see one park a day. As far as ages of the kids I would say in my opinion anyway, about 5 years old.

My kids want to go and they are 16,14,10 so I guess it all depends on what your children like. Some will love it others will not.

I think you are never too old for Disney, but one can definitely be too young. I would want my children to remember it, too, so I probably would say no younger than 4 (although I do have some childhood memories earlier than that myself).

The first time I ever took my family to Disneyland, my youngest was two years old and he had a great time. I'm taking the family back in December and he'll be four. Part of the thing to consider is not only the age, but the height of the child because of certain ride restrictions.

I don't think there is really an age limit for disney land. I mean some things are babyish. But there are things for almost all ages. Plus i mean come on its disney land. Its a classic.

At Disney world they also have camping and their own man made beaches. It`s really nice there. The water is beautiful there.

Are you going to the one in Florida or California? I was in the one in California, I spent 3 days at the hotel queen mary (a true ship full of history and haunted as they say) and went to Disney and Hollwood. I went with my hubby and parents, we are all grown up but we still had a bunch of fun!

Too bad the" it's a small ride" was closed We still enjoyed the pirates of the Carribean ride. There is another theme park right next to Disney now, it''s called something like "california adventure" or something similar and there is a special ride that makes you feel llike you are flying over California and smell oranges etc. I did not go, and regret it soo much!

Alessadry, you're talking about California Adventure and the ride that is supposed to simulate a hang gliding experience is Soarin' Over California. The one at DisneyWorld is called Soarin'. It's a geat ride with beautiful scenary. Both my 4 and 6 year olds just love this ride. It's a "can't miss". Get Fast Passes if the line is long and come back later.

If going to Disneyland in California, I would suggest your kids be in their early teens before taking on the challenge.

You spend most of your time standing in line, which doesn't work well if you have kids that cannot stand for long periods of time.

My wife and I have little kids ages 4 and 6. When we go in December it'll be the 3rd time for us in three years. The secret is to go during the off season when lines are minimal to non-existent. Your kids will love the trip as long as you love it, too.

We have been to both, Disneyland and Disneyworld.
Worth the money and sacrifice.
If you have children, it is wonderful.
