Mark Twain once said, "the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." That remark is very telling in when not to visit the city. However, what most people don't know is that during the last few weeks of September and the first couple of weeks of October, San Francisco experiences what natives consider an annual heat wave. Temperatures reach the mid 80s so it's very comfortable for visitors.

It's still cooler than many other areas. Sometimes it's great to go to SF just to escape the heat of other places. Cool down! ;}

It gets warm in the summers in Frisco, but the winters are pretty cool. There is still a ton of sun to be had despite the cooler temperatures.

I hear ya there Florentin! I love San Francisco though and spent many days of my youth prowling it's streets for sure! It's a great place to go and watch people! A friend of mine from Sausalito and I used to bum around there and have cracked crab down by the wharf. It might be chilly and drizzly and foggy sometimes, but I tell ya...it's NOT cold!
