I ran across a listing of favorite, somewhat undiscovered beaches and this one was listed.

Popham Beach State Park

I found a website.

Has anyone been here? The reviewer really liked it.

I have not been there, but I will certainly put it on my list! We have been thinking about going to Maine in fall, to see the leaves changing... I suppose we'd have to go earler than that to enjoy the beach though.
