Disaster in Madrid.

Most of you have probably heard about the Spanair flight that crashed yesterday in Madrid. This is Spains worst air accident of its kind in 25 years. All but 19 passengers died. The plane was taking of for Gran Canaria when it veered off the runway.

The latest news is that the on board flight recorder has now been found, we are just awaiting more news from that.

Spain has now declared 3 days of national mourning.

Wow, actually I hadn't heard about this. That's just horrible.. Do they have _any_ idea what might have caused it?

As yet the investigation is still underway, it only happened yesterday afternoon around 3pm their time. I will try and find a news article link and post it here.

What a tragedy... Have they been able to talk to any of the survivors yet to get an idea of what may have happened??

I hate to hear about anyone being hurt but I did hear about this one and it is just a horrible event. My heart goes out to everyone involved.

Wow. That sucks.... I actually am surprised I didnt hear that. The U.S. media will put ANYTHING to get $$$. Well I am sorry for them. *Taps plays in background*

That was such a tragedy. I think it's the worst air travel tragedy in Spain's history isn't it? Things like that surely don't happen often and I hold all those families having to deal with this in prayer.

The worse part in my opinion is the fact that it crashed minutes after taking off. That means that family members and relatives were still around the airport and could have seen it crash. I am sure this event may have traumatized many, therefore, there was support from psychiatrists offered.
