Default Electric cars!

What do you think about electric cars? Do you think they're gonna replace the regular cars anytime soon?

Just 100% electric cars? I doubt it. Maybe in 10-20 years, who knows? There's a whole bunch of alternative fuels competing right now and I think in the end we might up with different fuels for different purposes. For example I don't really see a battery powering an 18 wheeler Electricity might be good for small cars, meant to be used in a city though.

I would love to see that happen! If it becomes easier to get solar and wind power around the world imagine how much you could save.

Soon? No,but over time, maybe. Sooner or later, we'll have to have something that is more efficient and eco friendly than our gas gugglers of today.

I think eventually electric cars will be our future, but that will be 20-30 years down the road. The time is getting closer though.

I agree, electric cars are a good idea, but they still need some work before we can seriosuly expect them to be widely used and start replacing regular cars.

Yeah...I can see it's going to take a while though...most likely quite a while. I'm not sure I'll see if in my lifetime in fact. There is too much wrapped up in oil and such for that to come to an end anytime soon.

I have one major problem with electric cars... they run on electricity. They claim to be better for the environment, but if you consider where and how the electricity is produced..i.e power stations that burn coal then omitt fumes into the atmosphere then they are not really that eco friendly.

My second point would also be that the cost of electricity is also rising!!

That's why we should build out nuclear power IMO

Hmm electric cars. No. But I do think that all cars will eventualy run on Bio-Diesel made from the leftover grease from restorants. Also. Scientists are trying to make a motar that runs on water. It seporates the hydrogen moluclues from the H2O and makes it run the car.

I believe that electric cars will eventually replace normal cars because the air will be too toxic and this will be one of the solutions for the environment.

Perhaps when the petrol industry will grow less greedy and more environment oriented. I am sure there are already many alternative fuel ideas but that they are encountering difficulties in expanding because of burocratic issues.
Wind, solar, electric, vegetable based, whatever is better than these high oil pices and pollution!
