Hi and welcome

Sounds great - the complete opposite of the weather here in Sweden. It's been raining all day here..

Thanks y'all. Yes, it's great fun to learn about new places and see what's out there. You never know what you might find out or who you'll meet!

As for the rain, it'll get here soon enough, I'm sure. We're still in high 90's for temps, though.

High 90's! That sounds just dreadful... Luckily it never gets that hot here

I'm in the northern part of the state, the central valley. We had such a nice weekend, weather wise.

Welcome Orrymain. I'm originally from San Francisco. I've also lived in Oroville and Eureka. When I think central valley I start thinking Stockton and move north from there. I sure miss it out there.

I went boating once up in Oroville with some friends. Now that was great fun, but I haven't been there now in many, many years. I'm glad I'm not in Stockton. It's usually hotter there than it is here. ;}

Is that anywhere near Placerville? I was there a few years ago to visit with some friends - what a beautiful area!

Further up. Placerville is probably closer to Sacramento than Oroville. Placerville still has a bit of old world flare to it I think.

I love the Placerville area because there is so much California history there. There's also a Jelly Belly factory around the area...just can't remember which city it's in. But those cities around where the gold mining used to take place are fun places to stop by and visit.
