Default NASCAR Sunday

It's so weird not to have a NASCAR race today. They actually ran last night. I love the night races, but I'm so used to watching NASCAR on Sundays when the majority of races are run. Oh well -- there's always something to watch, thanks to my DVD collection.

...and WTG Carl Edwards on a great win and putting that upstart and mucho cocky Kyle Busch in his place.

Kyle Bush has been doing a little to well this year. lol. I like Kasey Kahne. I agree it does feel weird without the race on sunday.

I just can not stand NASCAR! I have tried to watch a few races to spend some time with my dad, but I just find it such a bore... What is it about this sport that draws so many people?

no idea. my dad watched the races when i was a kid - read, back in the old days when NASCAR and drag racing were a sort of underworld community and nobody else got the sport either.

of course, who's to say really, i mean, i watch a lot of baseball and i know there are people who don't get it at all

yeah I guess it`s one of those things that you just have to get into. I love nascar. I always have too. I used to go to the car races every week with my Dad and my bro. I guess thats why I love it so much.

I guess I could maybe understand more if I had memories of going to races as a kid. Can you actually see anything at the races? I would imagine they go around the track so fast they are almost a blur...

Honestly i dont get nascar. It last like 3 hours and all it is is "Left Turns!!!". I never honestly found it exciting. Now football. Thats awesome. Football is one of the least boring. Unlike left turns.

I can't stand Kyle Busch. You know, I used to not be able to stand his brother, Kurt, either. Talk about an arrogant creep. That's what Kurt was, but when Roush fired him early, it woke him up; that, and he got married. Between the two, he really seems to have matured. He's still human and he makes mistakes, but now he takes responsibility for it. The first year of his 'change', I kept waiting for the real him to reemerge, but he wasn't. I'm very impressed with Kurt. He's even talked about Kyle and how he's tried to help him, but Kyle won't listen. lol -- well, Kurt didn't listen to anyone either.

Kyle is even more arrogant than Kurt, and worse, he always thinks he's right, regardless. His vision is limited to what he sees only. I can't stand him.

As for Kasey, he's okay. I still have a hard time seeing him as a spokesman for Budweiser, but I love those Geico commercials.

I actually loved it as a kid. I was a Mario Andretti fan. When he retired, I stopped watching, just lost total interest. A couple years ago, I was bored and turned on a race. At first, it just passed the time. Then, drats, I started liking Jeff Gordon. lol Dang it, that got me hooked. I know it's just 'turn left', but these guys are athletes, and it's not easy to do what they do.

Sure you can. They had 160,000 at Michigan a few weeks back. Most races are sell outs. Answer me this -- these guys are driving big cars, going around a track. How can that be more difficult than watching 'ants' of football players running down a field or, worse, a little hockey puck being banged back and forth? The concept is the same. ;}

lol I don't like football; too violent for me, which isn't to say I haven't gone through spells of watching it. Growing up, I was hooked on Joe Namath and the Jets. When I was a little older, after watching Brian's Song, I followed the Chicago Bears for a while. Now, though, too many injuries and deaths in the sport (high school and college especially). It gives me chills.

And I don't like that a 15 minute quarter takes 40 minutes (or whatever it is <g>).
