Over the past ten years or so, Egypt has skyrocketed as a top vacation destination for millions of visitors every year. Most likely it is because of the recent rise of "ethno-" and "eco-tourism" industries. And while families will always come to check out the Pyramids of Giza and adventure seekers will always be touring on the newest safari, there are other hidden treasures of Egypt that are just as worthy to explore, all over the beautiful but dusty country. Here are some of the little-known spots of Egypt that you will love bringing home memories of!

Where else but in Egypt can you go to an actual oases? Here you can find your true inner peace and visit any six of them located in the area. Kharga is the largest oases and within it you can find Berber communities, temples, and museums. Al-Faiyum is not one of the most popular oases but here too temples can be found along with small pyramids, making this a perfect spot for those that are looking for some true meditation! Dhakla is one of the more popular oases as its hot springs and camel rides through the desert are something that all people want out of their trip to Egypt!

When you’re through relaxing and finding your inner peace, you may want to shop as the locals do! This includes cattle auctions at the Camel Market that can be found in Birqash and if you can’t make it, there is also a livestock auction in a small town just outside Luxor called El-Hebel. Find it every Tuesday morning, even if you’re not in the market. It’s an experience not to be forgotten! If you want to try your hand at bartering, visit the Khan-el Khalili Bazaar. Here you can argue over the cost of spices and perfumes and then joke with the merchant as a deal is made.

To get true visuals of the beautiful countryside, take a Nile River Cruise. This will take you through Egypt on a cruise lasting for usually four or five days. Not only is the cruise a more luxurious option, but you'll also be right there on the river, taking in plenty of the sights, and culture of the river. You can also take a hot air balloon ride, usually available in Luxor and sunset cruises are also available to Sunset Island. Inhale the phenomenal views as you leave no corner of the landscape unturned!
